Quality dental care for children is vital if they are to grow up with a happy and healthy smile. Looking after their first teeth is so important – problems with baby teeth can lead to difficulties with the permanent teeth that follow.

We recommend that you bring your child with you to appointments even before their own teeth start to appear so that they can get used to visiting us.

First appointments will be fairly informal and enable us to keep a close eye on how your child’s teeth are developing. We have plenty of time to discuss dietry advice, brushing and which toothpastes we may recommend.

We would like your children to have good tooth brushing habits for life, no fillings and healthy mouths.

At Orchard Cottage Dental we use the Kavo Diagnodent a diagnostic tool that detects early decay in children and reduces the need for x-rays.

At our practice we provide dental care on the NHS for children and young adults up to the age of 21. If any treatment is necessary, we will provide you with NHS and private options.
